In the town center, the "Schönenberger Straße", you can admire numerous beautifully restored half-timbered houses. Since its opening in September 2010, the newly renovated historic wine press has been "enthroned" in the center of the municipality of Ötisheim and shines in new splendor.
Through the Wannenwald forest, you climb up to the Sternenschanze and the Chartaque (observation tower). It forms part of the Eppingen Lines, which were built in 1695/97 as part of a labor force and served to contain French raids. You walk through vineyards and orchards down to Schönenberg to the Waldensian Museum (Henri Arnaud House). The Waldensian Museum is open on Tuesdays and Sundays from 2 to 5 pm, as well as by appointment.
