Hiking and cycling tour Around Lübben

The tour starts at Lübbens green oasis, the castle island, which is also wonderful for families as a small stop for a playground break and relaxation. From here, a visit to the Lübben Castle Museum can be made. The route leads to the Vogelschutz nature reserve, a small, natural park popular among the people of Lübben. From there, it continues along the flood embankment and then onto the path, which is also the railway embankment of the former narrow-gauge railway leading from Lübben Hauptbahnhof to Straupitz. You pass by the MURI viewpoint, where you can wonderfully observe herds of cattle. The path continues on the European hiking trail to the Nord-Umflutkanal. Here, there is an impressive view of the meadows and the canal with its bridge, over which the Spreewaldbahn once ran. The route follows the Lehnigksberger Weg along the Spree and Berste towards Hain. The Lübben Hain is a protected natural forest in the middle of the city and is a unique natural area. A stop at the Liuba monument is recommended here. From Hain, the route continues along the streets of the outer city center back to the starting point, the castle island.
