Description by the author

Enjoyable hike from Lippertsreute via the Senft distillery and the Markgraf von Baden winery in Salem to Überlingen.

The hike begins in the Überlingen suburb of Lippertsreute, which - surrounded by beautiful orchards - is the ideal starting point for the hike with two traditional country inns and numerous farm stores.

First, the trail leads through the cultivated landscape of the Linzgau past extensive orchards to Rickenbach, where the Senft distillery offers a wide range of spirits and liqueurs.

The route then continues towards Salem Castle. Here, it is worth visiting Salem Castle - one of the most famous cultural monuments on Lake Constance and home to the VDP "Margrave of Baden" award-winning winery. The wines of Markgraf von Baden are available both in the entrance pavilion of the castle and in the vinotheque in the castle grounds (freely accessible entrance to the wine shop from the L205 main road in the direction of Deisendorf).

From the castle, the Prälatenweg leads to Affenberg Salem. In addition to the Affenberg itself, the freely accessible restaurant is also worth a visit. During the hike, you can observe countless storks not only on the roofs around the Affenberg, but also in the surrounding meadows. After the Affenberg, cross the main road and follow the path uphill towards Deisendorf. At the junction, follow the signs straight ahead towards Ralzhof and on to the Überlingen suburb of Deisendorf. On the way, you will pass the idyllic Engeweiher pond, where ducks and frogs quack in competition.

If you like, you can follow the signs to Andreashof in Deisendorf. At the farm café there with its farm store, you can fill your rucksack with healthy and regional delicacies for the last stage of the hike.

Follow the signs towards Rengoldshausen, where the Demeter farm of the same name with its farm store and farm café as well as the Naturata with its restaurant and store invite you to make a stopover. After crossing the extensive farm grounds, you reach Rengoldshauser Straße, which you cross and follow a little to the left in the direction of St. Leonhard (Nußdorf).

Just before the Altbirnau sports ground, leave the road again and turn right into the forest, where you pass the forest playground and, after crossing under the main road, reach the St. Leonhard Landscape Park.

The hotel there with its large sun terrace invites you to round off your hike with a fantastic view over the lake.
