Easy circular tour over the Danube valley

What you can experience on this tour, or rather let it sink in, is the special magic of the Upper Danube valley, but also the expansive view to the south towards the "longing mountain Säntis", which can be seen from the silhouette of the Appenzell Alps and is close enough to touch on clear, foehn-filled days.

Here in Kreenheinstetten, in the "Baden corner of genius", lived Abraham a Sancta Clara, who was born Ulrich Megerle in the "Gasthaus zur Traube" in the 17th century and made a "career" in Vienna as an imperial court preacher and religious writer. A large number of sentences and phrases from his works are still quoted today in all kinds of situations. (e.g. "A woman follows her husband wherever she wants"...)
His life and work can be studied just as well in the "Abraham Memorial" in the former vicarage of the village as after the current renovation in the "Traube" over a beer or a "Viertele".

In addition to the special "spirit", the round also holds evidence of popular piety, such as the oak tree with the image of St. Anne, as well as the remains of historical walls and moat of a former castle, the "Wagenburg" - scientifically and archaeologically recorded under the name "Ruine Lägelen" - above the Danube valley. The rocky outcrop popularly known as "Schlossfelsen" offers a fantastic view of Hausen im Tal.
