Burgblickweg

In total, the route of the beautiful Burgblickweg is 11.8 km long (always follow marker 1). The loop can be shortened into walks and hikes of different lengths by returning (following the castle silhouette on sandstones): loops of only around 1.5 km / around 5 km and around 7 km are possible!
In addition to the natural paths and numerous views of Trendelburg Castle, highlights of the hiking trail include the legendary Wolkenbrüche, the Deiseler Tunnel (Carlsbahntunnel), the Brautstein and the Outdoor Fitness Park.
The Wolkenbrüche are funnel-shaped craters in the earth (sinkholes). The Wet Cloudburst is filled with water, the lake is approx. 16 meters deep. The Dry Cloudburst is about 400 meters away, is somewhat smaller and, as the name suggests, is not filled with water. The cloudbursts are rare natural phenomena and unique here in northern Hesse. Due to the storms Friedericke and Eberhard in 2018, the drought and the bark beetle infestation of the past hot summers, the forests in this area have suffered severe damage. The paths here may therefore be impassable in places due to forestry work. Please take this into account.
In the outdoor fitness park, through which the Burgblickweg leads, there are numerous fitness stations in the open air available free of charge. Gripping, climbing, hanging - here you can put your grip strength to the test and train.
