The Eselsbaum circular hiking trail runs north of Gottsbüren through the Reinhardswald forest. Paved paths alternate here with natural paths and meadow paths. This trail takes its name from the "Eselsbaum" rest area, which you reach halfway along the trail. Once there, you will find out why this place is called that. A new nature park bench invites you to take a break.
Along the way, you will also come across areas that were affected by windthrow and bark beetle infestation between 2018 and 2020. The forest of the future is now gradually being created here.
