Albsteig Schwarzwald Etappe 4 Tour West: St. Blasien - Bernau Genießer

This stage mostly leads directly along the banks of the Bernauer Alb, initially along shady forest paths, through the Bernauer Hochtal valley and sunny field paths.

After the efforts of the last few days, this stage is easier to manage. The route is pleasantly flat on wide forest paths along the gurgling Alb from St. Blasien to Bernau.From St. Blasien, the Albsteig trail leads above the town on idyllic paths to the north. It then crosses the Alb and follows the river closely to the Glashofsäge sawmill. There, both the Alb and the Albsteig split into two arms. This stage follows the Bernauer Alb along shady forest paths past imposing cliffs and beautiful vegetation to Bernau-Weierle. From there, the Albsteig Trail stays close to the banks of the Alb and leads through a blossoming valley to the idyllic, shady Tannengrund rest area. There is also a children's playground and barbecue facilities here. Access points to the Alb invite you to linger and cool your feet from time to time along the way. The hiking trail continues along the Alb to the turn-off to Bernau-Innerlehen, today's destination.
