Albsteig Schwarzwald Etappe 1: Albbruck - Görwihl

Deep gorges, bubbling streams, waterfalls and large and small viewpoints linked by narrow paths, shady forest trails and sunny country lanes.

The first stage already gives you an idea of what you can expect from the following days of hiking on the Albsteig Black Forest. The varied tour leads from the large Albsteig portal through quiet forest paths to Schachen. The steep descent to Studingersteg in the middle of the Alb gorge is well worth the effort. The forces of nature have washed huge boulders into the gorge here over the years. A narrow path then leads along the upper edge of the gorge to Tiefenstein. After crossing the village, the trail continues along a wide forest path to the Kaibenfelsen rock and then down to the mouth of the Höllbach stream. At lunchtime, the sun falls into the gorge and the spot by the two rivers is perfect for a final rest before the ascent to the dramatic Höllbach waterfalls. Here you should also take a little time to admire the natural spectacle before the junction at Hornbachstollen leads away from the Albsteig towards Görwihl.
