The Ruhr-Sieg cycle path connects the two rivers Ruhr and Sieg. About half of the route runs along former railway lines, allowing for easy cycling in the low mountain range landscape. It starts from the train station in Meschede, goes through Eslohe to Finnentrop. Along the way, there is much to discover - such as the DampfLandLeute Museum in Eslohe or the famous "Bat Tunnel" near Fehrenbracht. From Finnentrop, it continues to Attendorn and then to Olpe. This route follows the Biggesee, one of the largest reservoirs in Westphalia, and the historic old towns of Attendorn and Olpe are worth a visit. From Olpe, it first goes to Wenden. A visit to the Wendener Hütte is recommended here, the oldest and still excellently preserved charcoal blast furnace plant in the German-speaking area. Through the 400 m long Hohenhainer Tunnel, the cycle path leads to the historic city center of Freudenberg in the Siegerland region and from there to Niederfischbach, where the Siegerland Cathedral offers a place for a break. Finally, it goes to Kirchen an der Sieg, where a visit to the 20 m high basalt formation of the Druidenstein cult site in the Herkersdorf district is worth a detour.
