The circular hiking trail around the municipality of Schalksmühle, marked with the trail sign S, offers a variety of impressions, views, and experiences over a distance of about 47 km around the Volme community. Divided into at least two daily stages, the hiking route can be best managed.
Through the center of Schalksmühle's district Dahlerbrück, the trail leads up to the Heedfelder Heights with wonderful panoramic views along the course of the Sterbecke river through the beautiful Nahmertal valley. Going further down, the trail now follows along the Small Klagebach stream through the district of Strücken with a subsequent ascent around the Worthberg (408 m above sea level) up to the Rotthausener Heights and the Glörtalsperre reservoir back down to Dahlerbrück.
