30th Lower Rhine Cycling Day 2023 - Route Tip 3

The Lower Rhine Cycling Day will also take place in 2023 on the first Sunday of the month of July as tradition. On July 2nd, under the motto "Time Travel - 30 Years of Lower Rhine Cycling Day", many attractive routes will be offered. Route maps as well as participation cards and stamps are available at the starting and finishing points of each municipality. With two stamps from different municipalities, participation in the central raffle is possible.
Route 3 leads from Kalkar to Bedburg-Hau (Moyland Castle) towards the Rhine. In the old fishing village of Grieth, you can take the passenger and bicycle ferry to the right bank of the Rhine and to the city of Rees with its beautiful Rhine promenade. Another ferry crossing from Rees allows you to return across the river to Reeserschanz. The route continues through the Lower Rhine landscape and partly along the Rhine dike to Obermörmter and to the pilgrimage site of Marienbaum, and from there back to Kalkar.
