They hike through old deciduous forest stands, across wide fields, over hills with magnificent views, and along narrow, idyllic paths. Information boards along the way provide interesting facts about the history, flora, fauna, and geology in and around Alme.
Note: The circular route can also be shortened at any time via the hiking trails Al 2, Al 3, and Al 4. The trails will then lead back to the starting point of the hike, the Almer Entenstall.
Historical sites: Alme Castle, Almerfeld Estate, and Tinne House
Geological features: the unique karst spring area of the Alme with 104 individual springs, the Mühlental with bizarre rock formations as well as dolines, typical features in karst regions
Botanical highlights: many rare plants, such as hepatica, monkshood, and especially the Ice Age plant, the Pyrenean butterwort.
