City Forest Werre Trail

First, the path leads you through a small "maze" to the "Stone Grotto". There are several memorial stones set up there. The old linden tree gives the place a special atmosphere. Following the path further, after a short time on the left side of the main path, there is an approximately 8,000 square meter large meadow orchard. In spring, the scent of the blooming apple and pear trees fills the air here. The orchard also offers plenty for children to discover. You have the opportunity to use the foot experience path, the animal jumping facility, and the balancing station to play. Passing through the city forest, you can enjoy the lush greenery of the beech mixed forest. Deadwood trees provide numerous animals with a new home, e.g. for woodpeckers or bats. When you leave the forest area, you will reach the "Werresiek" via the old army road. From here on, water is now your constant companion. A winding path, lined with pollard willows, large deciduous trees, and insect-friendly plants, leads you further towards the city until you are back at your starting point.
