Seven Mountains - Ittenbach Military Cemetery

The starting point at the military cemetery already covers the cultural side of the Siebengebirge, and along the way we will get to know the different types of forests. We can discover both the light deciduous forest and the tall coniferous forest stock, as well as mixed forest plots and the Siefen structure, which probably also gave its name to the Siebengebirge. And at the end of the hike, we will also see meadows with stream drainage at Perlenhardt, which are often found in the nature park. This diversity makes the Siebengebirge so attractive and worth protecting as a nature reserve with many rare animal and plant species. We experience this during the hike through the Laagsbusch down to the Logebachtal, one of the most worth protecting landscape parts in the Siebengebirge, and back up to Hövel, which is used for agriculture and is just outside the nature reserve, until we immerse ourselves again in the forest stock, which is intended to serve as the core zone for nature conservation in the future. This also applies to the meadows at Perlenhardt, which we cross on an approved path, but which are valuable habitats for rare species.
