Weser Cycle Route Alternative Route, Stage 5: From Nienburg to Verden

This section of the Weser Cycle Path begins in the asparagus town of Nienburg and runs with many crossings of the Weser until Verden. Through beautiful natural landscapes with fertile fields, lush meadows, and a view of the Weser, you will drive to Drakenburg. In Drakenburg, you will cross your first bridge and follow the lock canal to Sebbenhausen. Further north in Schweringen, you will again change sides of the Weser and drive on an asphalted path to Hoya. You are now at the geographical center of Lower Saxony, which is marked by a stone. In the tourist information office of Hoya, you can pick up a certificate for your visit. The further cycle path runs through the vastness of the North German Lowlands closer to the Weser and passes by the municipality of Dörverden and the Wolfcenter. In the unique Wolfcenter, guests can familiarize themselves with the animals. Furthermore, there are two farmhouses in the municipality that are protected as monuments. The cycle path then leads you past Ried to your destination, the equestrian town of Verden. Here you have the opportunity to discover historical sights such as the Verden Cathedral and the Cathedral Canon's House.
