On the entire ridge path, hikers are treated to magnificent panoramas and quaint landscapes, complemented by beautiful rest areas and dining options. A visit to the nearby Gillerturm (654m above sea level) and the historic Ginsburg is always worthwhile.
The hike does not necessarily have to be planned as a day trip. A variety of access routes provide the opportunity to shorten the hike and descend back to Hilchenbach early.
Due to the beautiful route, its versatility, and the possibility of combining it with the Rothaarsteig, the Sauerländische Gebirgsverein has chosen the Hilchenbacher Höhenring as the hiking trail of the years 2018 to 2020.
