Rahden Schnakenpohl-Tour / Cycle path 8

From the parking lot of the restaurant Am Museumshof, follow the path of digit 8 for a short distance along Lemförder Straße towards the city. After about 800 meters, turn onto Mühlenstraße. Then cross Osnabrücker Straße, pass by Rahden Hospital, and turn right onto Feldstraße. After about 1 kilometer, Feldstraße forks. Turn right there and after a few meters you will reach the former Hotel Bohne. Just behind the hotel, turn onto Sudriede, cross Osnabrücker Straße again, and enter the beautiful Auewiesen. Continuing on, you will pass through Varlheide and the Fischerstadt (Fischerstatt), where the large pond systems of Rahden Castle used to be. Today, charming farmsteads emerge from old oaks.
The journey continues through Leverner Wald and then past Schnakenpohl. Just a few meters further, you will find the restaurant Zum Goldenen Hecht with a large, beautifully situated mini golf course that invites you to play.
Now head back towards Museumshof Rahden. You will pass through the village of Varl and cross the Aue on Mühlendamm before you see the beautifully overgrown castle ruins on the right side.
