This cycle tour requires a little effort at the beginning, when you climb up to the mountain village of Waldhäuser, which lies at around 1000 m above sea level and forms an enclave in the national park. This is followed by a long descent as compensation for the exertions. Once at the bottom, it is worth taking a detour on foot along the boardwalk into the renaturalized Kleine Au raised bog.
