The wild forest nature at the foot of the Rachel is best explored on this quality hiking trail. The highlight is the Rachelsee, the only natural lake in the national park. An Ice Age nature trail and the Felsenkanzel rock formation offer variety on the hike, before a stop at the Rachel service hut at the end. The 'Buntspecht' circular trail is certified by the German Hiking Association as a short quality trail in the 'natural pleasure' category.
