"Junge Jossa Lettgenbrunn" Spessartfährte

The small village with its eventful past is just waiting to be discovered.

From the interesting church, the circular trail leads out into the fields and meadows. When the view of the golf course becomes clear, the mighty Beilstein is reached. At the foot of this craggy basalt colossus - a special feature in the red sandstone mountains of the Spessart - the Villbach is crossed, which forms the Junge Jossa in Lettgenbrunn together with the spring that rises there. A narrow path leads uphill to the Beilstein nature reserve - one of the oldest in Hesse. On the eastern side of the high basalt cliff, the trail circles the ruins of the former Beilstein Castle. The route continues through dense forest until the hiker is led around the village above Lettgenbrunn along the edge of the forest, which offers great views. Hikers can enjoy the magnificent view over the spring catchment area before the path turns back into the forest. On exiting the forest, hikers are treated to a magnificent view of the Jossa valley as it stretches northwards. Accompanied by lush meadows and fields, the trail crosses the open mountain ridge. At the head of the ridge, the path curves down to the young Jossa before touching the pretty Spessart village of Pfaffenhausen. It flows through a narrow valley as a small stream. The lucky hiker is greeted by lush green grass before the circular trail crosses the forest above the narrow valley. Passing a refuge, the trail leads over the mountain. After leaving the forest, the path, accompanied by old trees, leads along the Bachanger back to the starting point. After this eventful circular hike, you can stop off at one of the two inns in the village to relax after your hiking experience.
