Reichenbach surprises with an unusual church: a Romanesque structure, in Hussite times it was a fortified church, hence the strong wall around the grounds, an early Baroque interior and very richly furnished for a Protestant church. The reason for this is that St. John's Church was the archpriest's see of the diocese of Meissen and the burial church of the noble family of Gersdorf. Its current appearance dates back to 1670. From Reichenbach, the path leads towards Mengelsdorf and from there past the Wundererle into the Königshain Mountains. There you will find fantastic granite rocks. The man-made landscape of the quarries, which have long since been abandoned, is also remarkable and worth a visit. This stage is a wonderful interplay between sacred and technical culture and nature.
