Pfälzer Mandelpfad (Rundweg 2, Rhodt)

The almond blossom heralds the end of the cold season in the Palatinate, usually as early as mid-March. No event is more eagerly awaited to finally welcome spring in glorious sunshine. The Palatinate Almond Trail, lined with the bright pink blooming splendor, offers the opportunity to enjoy this phenomenon to the full during the 10-14 day almond blossom period.

The circular trail 2 not only offers graceful almond trees, but also a vineyard exploration between the winegrowing communities of Hainfeld, Rhodt and Weyher. Along the German Wine Route, surrounded by wonderfully fragrant almond trees, the heart of every hiker beats faster.

Through the blossoming trees, the castles and palaces towering above the villages can be seen from afar, above all Hambach Castle, Villa Ludwigshöhe and Rietburg Castle.

On the way, you will come across the Max-Joseph Chapel, surrounded by almond trees, just before Hainfeld. The village is home to the "Zum Dorfbrunnen" and "Zum Logel" restaurants, which offer regional specialties and a selection of local wines. The "WeinGalerie" restaurant is also a great place to stop for a bite to eat.
