The Spitzingsee, one of the highest and largest high mountain lakes in Bavaria, is home to a breathtaking natural landscape. At an altitude of 1084 m above sea level, it has a lot to offer: from traditional restaurants, huts and mountain pastures to cable cars, some of which also run in winter. It is idyllically nestled in a basin between the Brecherspitz and the Rotwand.
Many hikes start here: for example to the Jägerkamp, the Rotwand, the Bodenschneid or the Brecherspitz. But there is also a fantastic trail around the Spitzingsee lake. It is flat with no major differences in altitude and is therefore suitable for everyone.
Also possible in winter, but expect slippery and slippery conditions.
