Ochsenweiher Rundweg

Comfortable circular trail at the northern entrance to the Schönbuch Nature Park along the Ochsenbach stream. The Ochsenweiher circular trail starts at the Franzensträßchen parking lot, directly on the B464.
A few meters from the parking lot we come to a gate, which we pass. Shortly afterwards, the circular trail branches off: on the right, a narrow path leads down to the Ochsenbach stream or we can save this beautiful section for the end.

We then follow the wide forest road. This leads us along the Ochsenbach stream and after approx. 1 km we reach the Ochsenweiher pond with very nice rest and barbecue facilities. We continue to follow the course of the stream (do not turn right after the pond). At the next junction, we turn right and continue slightly uphill.
We reach the Altdorfer Pflanzhütte with rest and barbecue facilities. Here, a plaque provides information about the historical significance of the "Via Rheni" trade route and the connection to the "Schnapps Oak".

From there, we follow the path in a northerly direction to the junction at the Alte Bannwaldsträssle. There we turn right again and after about another kilometer we reach a narrow path down to the Ochsenbach stream, which we have to cross. Then it's not far to the starting point at the Franzensträßchen parking lot.
