Birkensee-Runde gekürzt

A varied loop past the Wiebke memorial stone and the Birkensee lake.

Starting from the Schaichhof parking lot, we follow the wide forest road in a southerly direction until the path splits. Keep to the right there! After a slight ascent to the Bromberg plateau, we reach the Bannwald Silbersandgrube site.

Here we keep to the right and reach the Altdorf reservoir on a level stretch. Just a few steps further on, a rest area with barbecue facilities invites you to take a break. We continue to the Orkan Wiebke stone. We leave the forest and walk through fields, meadows and the Schönbuch golf course back to the starting point at the Schaichhof parking lot.Due to the shortcut, the hermitage cannot be visited.

The Birkensee loop is signposted in both directions. This loop can be extended, past the hermitage.
