Hedgehog" circular route

7.7 km - 1:30 h | Starting point: Info point on the culture trail, Op de Wohm, Ellingstedt

Start your tour at the memorial stone "In memory of the elevation of Schleswig-Holstein", follow the signs for "Igel" and turn left into Dorfstraße. After approx. 200 m you will see the memorial to the fallen and missing from the 1st and 2nd World Wars on the right and then you will pass the former site of the old school on the left. Follow the road until you reach the north bus stop. A train station once stood here in the middle of the 19th century. From here, follow the K23 (approx. 800 m without a cycle path) in the direction of Schuby until you turn right into Rellinghus in the sharp left-hand bend. Follow this road until you reach the Schellund junction, where you turn right. You will come to a crossroads where you can take a break on a bench under an oak tree. Continue south until you reach a T-junction. Turn left and shortly afterwards right into the street "Neuer Weg". After approx. 300 m, you will pass the former school moor and immediately afterwards discover the old railroad embankment opposite a small forest. At the next junction, cross the Wuhrenweg. The Igel circular route continues via "Neuer Weg" to the K39. Turn right and follow the cycle and footpath back to the village. There is a viewpoint to the "Viking Age settlement" excavation site along this route. You will also see the Mölbek stream, which used to have a ford for watering the wagon wheels. Now pass the sewage ponds and continue along the cycle and footpath to the road junction. Turn right into Langacker and pass the "GOSCH SYLT" fish processing plant. Shortly before you reach the starting point again, you will see the "Schönes Dorf" triangle on the right-hand side.
