Ostbayerischer Jakobsweg

The route crosses the Bavarian Forest from the border to the Danube in Regensburg and continues via Eichstätt to Donauwörth to join the Way of St. James from Bavarian Swabia in the direction of Lake Constance. From a geographical point of view, the route is therefore exactly on the straight line Prague-Regensburg - Augsburg - Lake Constance - Maria Einsiedeln/Switzerland. Under the symbol of the Way of St. James - the stylized yellow shell on a blue background - you can follow the route from Eschlkam continuously for 2825 km to Santiago de Compostela. There is also a well-marked and described route from Prague - the so-called Czech southern variant - to the border crossing at Vseruby/Eschlkam. For pilgrims in a hurry, a route variant for cyclists has also been signposted parallel to the East Bavarian Way of St. James for pilgrims on foot. For practical reasons, it follows the region's cycle routes, but is routed in such a way that it also touches the sites of religious veneration as well as those of supra-regional historical, cultural and tourist significance.
