Goldsteig N 18 Lusen – Mauth

Endurance hikers might have extended the previous day's stage to Mauth. Nature lovers stay at the Lusenschutzhaus. Sunset and sunrise as well as the fantastic views are reason enough to plan an overnight stay here. The descent the next day is easy and uncomplicated and invites you to relax and take numerous breaks. Stops along the way include the wild and romantic forest meadow at the so-called Tummelplatz and the Steinbachklause. This was once used to dam up the Steinbach stream for timber drifting. Soon after, the national park border is reached and the village of Mauth emerges from the sea of forest.
