Winterwanderweg Voithenberg, DSV-zertifiziert

The start of this winter hiking trail is the parking lot at the Voithenberg ski lift. We march past the chapel and the former Voithenberg Castle and walk along the long avenue where golfers pursue their passion to the left and right in summer. This 18-hole golf course is one of the most beautiful in Bavaria with its wonderful location and great views. The route continues past the BDKJ house along the Goldsteig hiking trail, where an idyllic trail about 500 meters long runs to the left. At the end of the trail, we walk a short distance along the road to the Voithenberghütte. From there, we take a long, steep forest path up to the Voithenberg ski lift and back to the starting point at the Voithenberg parking lot. Refreshments are available at the Schlosswirtschaft Voithenberg or in the Liftstüberl at the ski lift, which is run by the local ski club when the lift is in operation. Together with the towns of Furth im Wald and Waldmünchen and the Czech region of Domažlicko, the Safety in Skiing Foundation (SIS) and the German Ski Association (DSV) have worked in recent years to develop the quality of the cross-country ski trail network in the Upper Bavarian Forest/Bohemian Forest.
