As the name suggests, the Regen-Schwarzach cycle path connects the two rivers of the same name. From Nittenau, the route heads north past the bathing pond to the market town of Bruck i.d.OPf. From here, you reach Bodenwöhr, where the path runs along the Hammerweiher pond. The section between Bodenwöhr and the Palatinate town of Neunburg vorm Wald runs along a former railroad line and climbs slightly up the hill between the two towns.
