Goldsteig N 06 Leuchtenberg – Tännesberg

This defiant castle was the ancestral seat of the Landgraves of Leuchtenberg for centuries. Against this magnificent backdrop, the nationally renowned "Leuchtenberg Castle Festival" takes place every year (May to August). First downhill and then uphill again via Wittschau, the Goldsteig leads to the "Roter Bühl" and the village of Döllnitz, which marks the entrance to the "Pfreimdtal". The Pfreimd now accompanies you to the gates of Trausnitz, where the Calvary offers a fantastic view of Trausnitz with its church and castle. Continuing along the Pfreimd, you reach the dam wall of the Pfreimdtal reservoir. From here, a hollow path leads to the Bierlhof and Oberbierlhof districts, where forest paths pick up the hiker and continue via Kaufnitz to the castle hill of Tännesberg. A mighty castle once stood here. Today you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the village, the Upper Palatinate, Bohemian and Bavarian Forests, Franconian Switzerland and the Fichtelgebirge mountains.
