Gravelbike-Tour "Furth im Wald - Regensburg Tag 1: Von Furth im Wald nach Rötz"

The gravel tour is a real challenge due to the altitude difference. Especially on the first two stages, there are one or two steep climbs, but there are also short, crisp trail sections to master. Otherwise, the route is mainly on varied forest, meadow and asphalt paths. The tour is an absolute nature experience with many views far into the low mountain range landscape. There are also two bathing lakes along the way. We recommend taking the train to Furth im Wald. You should plan an overnight stay there so that you can start the tour the next day in a relaxed manner. The gravel tour is on the Bavarian network for cyclists and leads along the following long-distance cycle paths: Trans Bayerwald and Falkenstein Radweg The first stage from Furth im Wald to Rötz, which runs along the Trans Bayerwald, is a good place to start - but only after the first ten kilometers. This is because it sets you up for the next 3 days. The route climbs up to the Gibach massif with far-reaching views of Čerchov and the Hohenbogen. However, the next 40 kilometers are much more leisurely. The route leads gently downhill with small climbs via Herzogau in the direction of Waldmünchen to Rötz. Highlights are certainly the views from Gibacht and the confluence of the Bavarian and Bohemian Schwarzach rivers.
