Hohenbogen-Diensthüttenweg

From the starting point at Waldschmidtplatz, we join the Way of St. James after approx. 100 m on Waldschmidtstraße and turn right into Schulstraße. Past the fire station, the hiking trail turns right into Lindenstraße. We walk past the plague cemetery (a reminder of the plague in 1632) and then turn left into Buchenring. Straight ahead we come directly to the Eschlkam bypass road, which we have to cross. After a few meters, we turn left onto a field path and soon enter a mixed forest. We walk through this section of forest and reach the village of Leming on a meadow path. After about 100 m, the hiking trail turns right (this is where the Ek2 hiking trail and the Way of St. James separate) and runs through the village. Outside Leming, the hiking trail turns right towards Langsäge. We cross the road and then continue straight ahead on a field path into a wooded area. Just a few meters after entering the forest, the hiking trail turns right onto a forest path. It is not long before we come out into the open again and reach the road from Schwarzenberg to Unterfaustern. We cross this road and follow a field path until we reach a wooded area at the foot of the Hohen-Bogen. The hiking trail leads into the forest as a path, but immediately turns right again. After approx. 500 m, we come to a field path that leads to the Hohenbogen on the left. This path is not too steep and after half an hour we reach the well-maintained Hoher-Bogen path. From the forestry path, we hike steeply uphill to the service hut, which is open all year round. If we still have time, we can make a detour to the Burgstall, which is home to a Bavarian radio and television transmitter and offers a magnificent panoramic view.
