We leave the village heading west. Follow the footpath alongside the road, past the school and down into the valley. We cross the bypass straight ahead and walk along the main road to the Gotzendorf district. After the long left-hand bend, we turn right into the village. After 100 meters, we come across the 300-year-old Räuber-Heigl lime tree. Passing the lime tree on the left, the hiking trail leads us up the small hill until we reach the main road again, which we cross and now the Ho6 markings point us towards the nearby forest. After approx. 3 km, slightly uphill, we reach Reitenberg. We turn left after the former mountain inn and after approx. 20 meters the Ho6 marker points us towards the forest. Now we walk along the northern slope of the Kaitersberg until we reach the Hudlach mountain farm after approx. 2.5 km. We leave the mountain farm on the right and continue along the forest road. After a small climb and a short, flat section, the Ar6 markings point us to the left, but we stay on the forest road. After approx. 1 km, our hiking trail Ar9 now leads left to Eschlsaign. From Eschlsaign, we follow the path marked Ho5 to Simmereinöd and back to Hohenwarth.
