A tour in the "Region of the 10 Thousanders" near Deilingen takes you (almost) to the highest heights in the Swabian Alb.
There are at least three thousand-metre peaks to climb or circle on this hike: the "Wandbühl" (1,006.7 meters), the fourth highest peak in the Alb, the so-called "Montschenloch" (1,004.4 meters in 6th place) and the "Bol" (1,002.3 meters, the seventh highest peak in the Alb). But don't worry, you don't need crampons or climbing harnesses and you don't necessarily have to be free from giddiness! The tour can be hiked fairly comfortably. Some of the highest elevations in the Alb above 1,000 meters have the character of slight hills, as you start the hike just below a thousand meters above sea level. But at least you walk across the roof of the Alb and can enjoy the views in all directions.
