The one or other detour on the route is not due to arbitrariness, but to the desire to give the cyclist as many memories as possible with an exciting route. Some sections are unpaved and only suitable for racing bikes, but there are always alternative routes to get from one place to the next. Most of the route is signposted in accordance with ADFC guidelines, while the green signs on the other sections bear the Romantic Road logo and a bicycle symbol.
Author's tip: Take a little more time to explore the Pfaffenwinkel monastery region and visit the rococo jewels along the cycle route. It's worth it!
