Winterwanderung - über Litzau zur Wieskirche

The hike starts at the hiking board opposite the Tourist Information. Cross the road at the pedestrian lights and walk past the war memorial to the market square (fountain, historic Welfenmünster). Continue right through the archway, past the monastery garden, along Welfenstraße, after the sawmill follow the signs to Litzau. If there is snow, continue uphill at the Karl-Eberth-Haus on the tarred road to Gagras and stay on the road that leads you through Litzau and approx. 2 km further to the junction with the access road to the Wieskirche.

• If there is snow, walk the last 500 m to the Wieskirche on this road.
• In dry weather, cross the road and follow signpost no. 114 to the Wieskirche.

Possible return route south of the Wieskirche towards Lindegg via Hiebler back to Steingaden (approx. 6 km, partly not signposted).
