Etappe 1, Ostschleife, Heilige Landschaft Pfaffenwinkel - Vom Hohen Peißenberg nach Weilheim

Way description: We start the first stage on the Hoher Peißenberg. We leave the mountain peak in an easterly direction and come to St. Michael's Chapel, which is on the right of the path. We continue downhill to Peißenberg, where we can take a detour to the Friedenskirche church before following the Michelsbach and Wörtersbach streams. In Bachstraße, we turn right and come to St. Johann Church, which can be visited. Just on the other side of the road is the parish garden maintained by the horticultural association. We leave Peißenberg on Habergasse. At the crossroads, where we can take a detour to the meditation trail, we turn left and follow the asphalt path, which leads us past the natural monument of the Reiselsberg sandstone boulder to Ficht and the Patrona Bavariae Chapel. We continue via Berghof to the Ammer, which we follow for a long time until we reach Polling. There we have the opportunity to visit the monastery village (Heilig Kreuz monastery) and the collegiate church of St. Salvator of the Augustinian canons. We leave the village on the Eisenschmiedweg. At the St. Jakobus Chapel, an idyllic chapel in the countryside, we leave the path to the left. At the next opportunity, we turn right and continue along the Prälatenweg to Weilheim, the destination of the first stage. Worth seeing are the parish church of St. Pölten, the oldest church in the town, whose origins date back to the 8th century, the baroque parish church of Mariae Himmelfahrt and the historic old town.
