Description by the author

In a small loop in a northerly direction, the trail passes Huglfing. Shortly afterwards, hikers pass the gravel pit on Tratstraße, where gravel is still mined and processed today. The path now undulates through an idyllic wooded area to Tauting, where walkers can stop for refreshments at the farmer's café. Soon after a crossroads, the path turns west and runs parallel to the railroad tracks across open meadows and fields to the north. In the meadow, there is an impressive view of the facilities of another gravel quarry. On the way over the gentle hills to the east of the village, walkers can repeatedly enjoy wonderful views of the Hoher Peißenberg and the Alpine chain.

Author's tip: On the way, where gravel or tuff is or was quarried, there are information and play stations on the subject of stone, so that walkers can learn and experience a lot about this important raw material. (Completed in 2015)

Path description: Shortly before the "Moosmühle", the path leads up to the left, past the mighty farm part of the former Rameck Castle. The trail loops around the village of Huglfing in a southerly direction, offering wonderful views of the Alpine chain with the Zugspitze. Shortly after the sports field settlement, hikers pass the gravel pit on Tratstraße, where gravel is still mined and processed today. On the other side of the path, you can discover what happens when a gravel pit is left to its own devices after exploitation. The path now undulates through an idyllic wooded area to Tauting, where walkers can stop for refreshments at the farmer's café. Soon after a crossroads, the path turns west and runs parallel to the railroad tracks across open meadows and fields to the north. In the "Auwiese", there is an impressive view of the facilities of another gravel quarry. The hiker reaches the village of Huglfing, where there are numerous signs of the - now completed - extraction of tuff. The path leads back to the station via the quarry road. Along the way, information and play stations on the subject of stone are located where gravel or tuff is or was quarried, so that walkers can learn and experience a lot about this important raw material.
