Kleine Frechensee-Runde

Alternative route description: From the hiking parking lot on the southern edge of the groundwater lake, follow the Unterer Flurweg, which turns into a gravel forest road. After about 500 m, follow the path in the forest to the left. It runs over gentle undulations through a beautiful mixed forest with impressive dead ice holes of various sizes. Shortly afterwards, you reach the eastern shore of Lake Frechensee. Leave the lake behind you for a short distance, turn right from the path to Lauterbacher Mühle after another 500 m and return to this idyllic forest lake. Along the western shore and a forest meadow, the trail leads back to the parking lot at the groundwater lake.

Way description: From the train station in Seeshaupt, the short loop around the Frechensee initially leads along the railroad tracks to the end of the village. But immediately after the last houses, you are surrounded by greenery and walk along quiet forest paths towards Frechensee. The path undulates slightly along the inaccessible eastern shore of the lake until it makes a sharp turn. Accompanied by a wonderful view of the lake, you soon reach the open, sunny western shore. Here, walkers reach the water's edge for the first time and can enjoy the secluded idyll of the remote lake on one of the benches. Partly through the forest, partly along the edge of the forest, the route finally leads back towards Seeshaupt.
