Jaén (Spanish pronunciation: [xaˈen], Arabic: جيّان) is a city in south-central Spain. The name is derived from the Arabic word khayyān (‘crossroads of caravans’). It is the capital of the province of Jaén. It is located in the autonomous community of Andalusia.
