The Cilla Tower is part of the walls of Olvera.
It is the only empty tower in the city wall. The wall of the city of Olvera is located around the highest point at the foot of the castle.
The city of Olvera developed under an Arab fortress (12th century) that was part of the Nazarite kingdom of Granada . The reconquest was in 1327 by Alfonso XI. accomplished. At that time the Walls of Olvera surrounded the entire perimeter of the city . Remnants of the old wall remain, such as buttresses, flanking cubes and some towers.
