This chapel was built as the seat of the Archconfraternity of the Divine Shepherdess. Work began in 1736 , and in 1762 the church was given its current appearance.
The church has a Greek cross plan covered by half barrel vaults in the arms and a cupola on shells in the transept.
The facade is articulated by Corinthian pilasters with the door in the center surmounted by a marble statue of the Divine Shepherdess . The bell tower rises above the left corner, articulated by Tuscan columns. The dome is covered with glazed ceramic tiles of different colors.
The inner altarpiece , dating from 1753, occupies the entire space of the presbytery and its large dimensions contrast with the reduced space of the chapel, creating a very Baroque effect. It consists of three streets and the entire surface is richly decorated. In the central street there is a small chapel with the image of the Divine Shepherd, dated around 1730 and attributed to José Montes de Oca.
