The Santa Marta Chapel is a Catholic chapel in the historic Barri de San Mateo of Jerez de la Frontera, in front of the Church of San Mateo.
The chapel is the canonical seat of the Brotherhood of Santa Marta, Brotherhood of the Catholic Church. One of the peculiarities of this confraternity is that it has two tunics , one for the procession of mystery and one for the procession of canopy.
The first step represents the transfer of Jesus to the tomb after he has been taken down from the cross. The carving of the step is by José Gallego and the gilding by Herrera y Feria. The pass was purchased from the Hermandad de San Benito de Sevilla. The Mystery consists of nine statues, all by Antonio Eslava Rubio de Carmona. The title statue, the Christ of Charity, was blessed in 1962.
The second of the mysterious floats depicts Our Lady of Patronage in a net canopy. The Virgin Mary is the work of Francisco Pinto Berraquero and was consecrated in November 1959.
