Fray Félix de Granada bought a house on Puerta del Corbacho from Marquis Almunia in 1629, with the aim of building the convent of the Capuchin Brothers. The works were finished in 1633 , and the church was built a few years later.
The friars have undergone several confiscations, such as that of the government of Joseph Bonaparte in 1810 or that of General Riesgo in 1821. Later, with the confiscation of Mendizábal in 1835, the monastery was sold and demolished , leaving the church in possession of the Mitra.
The door of the church has lintels and is framed by a divided triangular pediment, in which there is a niche with an image of the "Virgen de los Dolores".
The door of the hospital , which also leads to the base of the church, has a similar layout to the previous one, except that the pediment is now arched and the image in the niche is now that of "San Jacinto" , the patron saint of the hospital, and below it the coat of arms of Bishop Marcelino Siuri , who was the sponsor of the works.
The church of Los Dolores has one nave, covered by a barrel vault and a dome on pendentives in the transept. An exceptional neoclassical style chapel stands out in the choir, where stands the statue of the Virgen de los Dolores , popularly called "the Lady of Cordoba", sculpted around 1719 by the sculptor Juan Prieto. One of the altars on the Gospel side is presided over by the Santísimo Cristo de la Clemencia, co-titular of the Cofradía de los Dolores, created by the Sevillian sculptor Amadeo Ruiz Olmos in 1939.
