Busto de Carlos Carbonell - Cordoba

The Deoleo group, world leader in olive oil packaging, has placed this bust of Carlos Carbonell y Morand in Flor del Olivo square next to the Chimeneón, where the old Carbonell factory was located.

The company has leading brands in all markets in which it operates, including the Spanish brands Carbonell, Koipe and Hojiblanca and the Italian brands Bertolli, Carapelli and Sasso.

The sculpture, which consists of a bronze bust with the figure of Carbonell y Morand sitting on a granite base, was made by the sculptor Mateo Inurria, also from Cordoba.

Carlos Carbonell y Morand was the driving force and principal architect of some of the company's major achievements. The city of Cordoba and the Deoleo group thus pay tribute to one of the great men of the 20th century for his progress, vision for the future and ability to work hard. Carlos Carbonell y Morand was the founder of the Chamber of Commerce and was named by the Círculo de Empresarios as one of the 100 most important Spanish businessmen of the 20th century. He was also one of the main promoters of the city and of projects that were necessary at the time, such as the construction of the Guadalmellato reservoir and the Puertollano railway.
