The Fountain of Seville popularly known by different names "the Fountain of the Puerta de Jerez", "the Fountain of Pissing Children" or "the Fountain of the
Hipalis Goddess" was created by the sculptor Manuel Delgado Brackembury for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929.
The sculptural ensemble consists of three seats placed one above the other, formed by a group of children standing on six turtles and playing with a giant lotus that serves as the base for the main statue: a lady on a throne symbolizing the city of Seville. The turtles represent the slow and sure progress of the city, while the melancholic attitude of the lady reflects the awareness of Seville's historical past,
