During World War II, writer and Nobel Proze winner, Ernest Hemingway could be found frequently on a bar stool at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. Having a bit of an alcohol problem, he gulped down quite some Bloody Marys here. The bar is named after him: Bar Hemingway. He was the author of 'The old man and the sea'. The legend says that Heminway threw out some 'brown shirts' by the end of the war.
