Malemort du Comtat (in provencal: Malomort doù Coumtat ) is a small typical southern village, away from the main roads. Perhaps that is why it has remained quite intact. It is located approximately in the geographical center of the Vaucluse and surrounded by Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail in the north, the plateau de Sault in the east and the Monts de Vaucluse in the south. In the West and South-West, a plain extends to the Rhône and the Durance, the rivers that also border ce Comtat Venaissan. (Venaissan refers to Vénasque)
