Description

The municipality of Chaourse has one of the oldest fortified churches in the region. Located on the northern slope, this imposing mass dominates the valley of the Serre, the river that separates the high Chaourse (right bank) from the low Chaourse.
This church is part of the tourist route along the valley of the Serre, the bell tower, high quadrangular tower of 25 meters, real feudal castle tower as well as the two huge towers that frame the western portal attract attention by their originality.
The interior of the church is really worth the detour: a beautiful main altar in baroque style, a high prismatic tabernacle, the choir and the apse with high paneling...
